Grand Canyon Deaths
January 26th, 2008 . by adminAlthough the Grand Canyon is world famous as one of the ultimate destinations for tourists to experience and share in the majestic, awesome beauty of one of the earths most incredible natural wonders, it also has a dark side to it in that it has claimed the lives of about 600 people in one way or another. The Grand Canyon Deaths recorded since the 1870’s show that if you are going to venture into the canyon on a hiking or rafting adventure you should be fully aware that the environment and weather conditions can be dangerous. You can drown, suffer from heat stroke or hypothermia just to name a few dangers. Some people have fallen to their deaths by just trying to get too close to the edge. If you want to do that then you should choose a lookout point that has safety railings around it. There are some times strong winds and air currents that can blow you off your feet or make you lose balance while too near to the edge and that may mean the end of you.
