The Role of American Red Cross
June 20th, 2008 . by adminThe American Red Cross is the country’s premier emergency response organization. It was established in 1881 by prophet leader Clara Barton to provide charitable care to the casualties of war and helping victims of devastating disasters by nature.
As time passes by, the service of the American Red Cross expanded by including compassionate services in five (5) more branches including the following: “(1) services in the community that help those who are in need (2) help and comfort for defense forces members and their families (3) the compilation, processing and allocation of lifesaving blood and blood merchandises (4) educational programs that encourage well being and safety (5) and international assistance and development programs.”
