My husband and I like our bed room pitch black at night so we chose to paint our room dark grey and put in dark navy blue shades. Light was still getting in through the blue shades so we needed to think of something new. We just purchased new navy blue curtains so we couldn’t afford to buy new blackout shades, so we decided to make our own. We purchased black curtains to sewed them to the navy blue curtains. We made our own blackout shades for under $40. Our room is very dark at night now and no unwanted light is getting in. I am so glad we did not have to spend a lot of money on curtains and were able to make our own.
