The best way to find out what style of diamond ring she (or he!) likes, is to look at the rings she already has, and to seek the advice of her friends and family. The first thing to establish is what kind of metal to choose for the diamond ring. White gold diamond rings are very popular these days, as are platinum rings. But you should easily be able to decide on your partner’s tastes by looking at her current jewellery. Is it predominantly silver in colour, or (yellow) gold?
The style of diamond setting preferred can be quite tricky. You may need the assistance of friends and family on this one. For some people, the bigger the diamond the better. For others, a more subtle style is preferred. Does she prefer a ring with shoulder stones? Princess cut? Emerald cut? The best idea would be to bring up a short list based on what you think she would like, and then ask her friends and family for advice on picking the winner.
