The gate will be assembled and all you have to do is paint or stain it. You won´t need any gate hardware at all. Although it is not essential that you paint or stain the gate, it is advisable to do so. This coating will help seal it against the weather. Even though redwood is resistant to rot and insect infestation, it needs to be painted or stained to protect it against water absorption and the UV damage from the sun’s rays.
