I believe that we can know things about the universe without sense experience.  As a scientist, I believe that there are some things about the universe that hold true in every instance.  This is more readily described as a scientific law that cannot be contradicted.  I readily concede that most, if not all, of the standing scientific laws today have been verified through experience and experimentation.  However, I also hold that such laws can be innately known through logic and reason, as shown in the magic shop.  I believe that an understanding of the universe can be known through the connections made through logic and reason.
