I was reading in an entertainment genre magazine last week about a how the smaller television networks Attract Top Affiliates for their stations. It went on to tell me how they wine and dine them and take them on some of trip to a popular destination like Las Vegas or Orlando and bring them to meetings to show them how beneficial it would be for them to sign up with their network and carry their programming. I thought it was like bribery when the article went on to say that this is basically the industry standard for getting people on board. I found that fascinating.
